Open Positions
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT seeks to hire tenure-track faculty members in the following area(s):
- Solid Mechanics
- Energy
- Dynamical Systems and Controls
- Broadly in Mechanical Engineering (General Search)
All searches will be carried out broadly and all exceptional candidates will receive full consideration.
The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor without tenure. Under exceptional circumstances an appointment at a higher rank may be possible. Applicants must hold an earned doctorate at the time of appointment in an appropriate field and must have demonstrated an ability to carry out outstanding research and have a strong record of, or promise for, exceptional teaching.
Submission of applications before January 31, 2009 is strongly encouraged; full consideration will be given to applications submitted by February 28, 2009.
